Hi All Harry Potter Fans, According to Barnes and Noble online, the sixth book in the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling, entitled "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince," has a release date set for the sixteenth of July, 2005. Not many clues about the book have been revealed, save for one: one character will die in this book. Go to www.jkrowling.com for more upcoming info, if there will be any, and you can go to www.bn.com for pre-ordering, or I suppose Amazon too. Anyway, yay! I'm so excited about this, and I hope others of you are too. Caitlin
Must mark that one on my callendarnow. Hmm, wonder how many tapes that book will be. And jkrowling.com is a great site.
My little cousin is a big HP fan. LOL when I babysat her last year I said "Pick a movie out and we'll watch it." We watched both Harry Potter movies and that seemed to keep her preoccupied.
Lol yeah the movies are pretty good, I must say, I was kinda disappointed with the third one, because it strayed from the book a bit more than the others and seemed to go very fast. But all in all they're good movies, and are loyal to the book. Good acting too. And music! About the length of book 6, I don't remember where I read/heard this, or even if it's true, but I think someone or something said somewhere that Book 6 is gonna be shorter than Book 5, and Book 7 is going to be the longest yet. Maybe it was on jkrowling.com, not sure. Caitlin
I didn't really like the third one either.

I haven't had a chance yet to see the third movie, but I hope to soon. I can imagine it would move really fast though because there's a lot going on in that book. I'll be really interested to see how they make books four and five in to movies since they're so much longer. They probably can't make the movies much longer then the previous films, since kids probably wouldn't sit through them. Maybe they could release the movies in parts, like how they released Kill Bill. You could have Harry Potter and the Goblit of fire Volume 1, and then put out volume 2 a few months later.
young whippersnapper! who isnt fit to light Gandalf's pipe!.
Yeah I like WJ's idea about breaking HPATGOF into volumes. Same for HPATOOTP.
I've heard somewhere that they are actually going to do that. Breaking the books into parts for the next 3 books, there's really no way they could do it any other way.
I know all to well a kid cannot sit through 3 hours of a movie even if it's a good one. After 2 hours they start to get fussy. The only thing I don't like about DVDs is that you stop it, and like a song on a CD it starts over again unless you remember what part you were on. That was the most annoying thing lol. I remember the movie Back to the Future was done in 3 parts because of the length. So I think this would benifit both the audiance and those making the movie to recieve more time and money, and the kids can enjoy the movies in smaller parts.
Yeah I agree. It being broken up would be fun, and I also think someone said somewhere that that was what was going to happen. Lol.
I cant wait till the 6th book is released! Personally i was dissappointed with the movie too because it didn't really follow the book too well. Im just wondering though how far the rest of the movies will stray from the books, as they have to be made shorter in order to keep their audience interested.
Yeah I'm wondering too, Nib. it'll definitely be a challenge. I hope the movie makers are up to it. Caitlin
Oh most definitely. The movie always strays from the book at least to some extent. Mystic River for example was a kick ass novel. But the movie sucked majorly because it didn't have Sean trying to get in contact with his seperated wife. Then finding out Sean is a dad. Not to mention Jimmy confessing to his wife that he killed Katie in the book, and his wife getting all slutty in a sex scene tords the end. Then Celest is chasing after her son who's in on a float in a parade and that too wasn't in the book either. Then the movie concluded to Mystic River where Dave's body layed in a watery grave......it's like the entire ending wasn't apart of the book.
And the Tuck Everlasting movie was horrid. The new one, I mean. It turned the beautiful story into some sappy love story. And Winnie was liek sixteen in the movie, and Jesse was over eighteen or something, and of course that turned it into some stupid love story rubbish bin. Anyway I was really mad. But back to Harry Potter. Lol. I hope the fourth movie, or first installment of it, anyway, beats Azkaban. I was kinda mad about Azkaban's movie. Lol. Caitlin
JK Rowling is a plagarising theif! She is Incapable of having 1 solitary original thought,if Tolkien hadnt written LOTR H.P would never have seen the light of day!
Oh now ... she must have some of her own ideas, even if some are taken from other books, which I know a lot are. But they're still good, heh! Caitlin
